arlington bungalow
Nestled in a neighborhood chalk full turn of the century bungalows, we were hired to make sense of an awkward living room that is long and narrow as well as fully upgrade the furnishings throughout the main area of the house. In the the new layout, we created two distinct conversation areas within the living room but are visually connected through custom sized area rugs, and the use of swivel chairs and a dual function console table/homework desk. Aesthetically, our goal was to keep the masculine, natural woodwork and original fireplace but create a look that felt light and fresh. To achieve this we layered in a range of blues, grays, linen, natural fibers and a bold pop of chartreuse. The small, sunroom room off the living room was given further distinction with a boho indoor/outdoor inspired wallcovering.
